Like many PTR owners, my rifle will reliably fire (i.e., single shot rifle) any NATO 7.62 ammo. I called PTR and got the standard reply to use a restructed list of ammo. The rifle function well with 2 of the types of ammo recommended.

I just did one on mine about two months ago hk parts. I believe you can have ptr weld a rail on for you. I ended up milling the back of my claw rail cause the bottom of the claw rail is flat and doesnt have the notch in the back to hook over the front of the rear sight.
